What makes it medicinal?
Reishi’s triterpenes, particularly ganoderic acids, may support cardiovascular health by reducing inflammation, providing antioxidant protection, regulating blood pressure, reducing cholesterol levels and preventing blood clot formation.*
The beta-glucans and triterpenes found in Reishi may stimulate the activity of immune cells, such as macrophages and natural killer (NK) cells, and promote the production of cytokines that regulate immune function.*
Reishi’s triterpenes may have hepatoprotective effects–reducing inflammation, oxidative stress, and liver damage. They may also support liver function by stimulating detoxification enzymes and promoting bile secretion, eliminating waste and toxins from your system.*
Reishi’s triterpenes may have potential pain-relieving properties due to their anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects. Triterpenes have also been studied for their potentially sleep-enhancing and anxiolytic (anti-anxiety) effects. Animal studies have found that Reishi extracts significantly increased both total sleep time and non-rapid eye movement (NREM) sleep time.*
Adenosine, found in Reishi, may support the utilization of ATP, the primary energy molecule in cells. Reishi’s triterpenes may help reduce fatigue-related symptoms by increasing oxygen flow to the muscles and all body tissue.*
Made with fresh, organic, fruiting body mushrooms
fresh
Many extracts you see on the market are made with mushrooms that have been shipped overseas and stored in warehouses for who knows how long. Not us! Fruiting Bodies are harvested, extracted, bottled and delivered within a couple months!
Organic
We make our products with only organic mushrooms grown or wild-crafted in the U.S. This is critical for tinctures because any contaminants that creep their way into the substrate (what mushrooms grow on) or onto the mushrooms will become more concentrated–and therefore more toxic–when distilled into an extract.
Fruiting body
By using 100% fruiting bodies¹ that are allowed to fully mature, we ensure all medicinal properties are potent, active and able to be extracted. This also ensures our tinctures are gluten-free.
Unless the mycelium² has consumed all grain substrate, mycelium-based extracts end up with high starchy residue that dilutes any medicinal content.
1. Fruiting bodies refer to a mushroom’s cap and stem.
2. Mycelium refers to the web of fibers that produce the fruiting body.
