What makes it medicinal?
Cordycepin, a compound found in Cordyceps, has exhibited vasodilatory effects, which may improve blood flow and reduce the workload on the heart. In vivo studies have shown Cordycepin may help balance cholesterol levels and improve lipid profiles.*
Cordyceps may help to relax and widen respiratory airways. This can be beneficial for individuals with respiratory conditions like asthma. Their anti-inflammatory properties, like polysaccharides and cordycepin, can help reduce inflammation in the airways and improve overall function.*
Cordycepin, a compound found in Cordyceps, can be used by the body as ATP, the primary molecule that delivers energy to our muscles. Cordycepin may help improve oxygen delivery by increasing blood flow and enhance oxygen utilization.*
Cordycepin has demonstrated liver-protecting effects, possibly reducing damage and inflammation, as well as assisting in detoxification, which can be especially helpful for those taking liver damaging drugs.* Adenosine has been studied for its ability to regulate glucose metabolism, insulin sensitivity, and lipid metabolism–helping stabilize blood sugar levels.*
Adenosine, found in Cordyceps, plays a role in regulating neurotransmission and calming the nervous system. It may act as a natural sedative by binding to adenosine receptors in the brain to promote relaxation.*
Made with fresh, organic, fruiting body mushrooms
fresh
Many extracts you see on the market are made with mushrooms that have been shipped overseas and stored in warehouses for who knows how long. Not us! Fruiting Bodies are harvested, extracted, bottled and delivered within a couple months!
Organic
We make our products with only organic mushrooms grown or wild-crafted in the U.S. This is critical for tinctures because any contaminants that creep their way into the substrate (what mushrooms grow on) or onto the mushrooms will become more concentrated–and therefore more toxic–when distilled into an extract.
Fruiting body
By using 100% fruiting bodies¹ that are allowed to fully mature, we ensure all medicinal properties are potent, active and able to be extracted. This also ensures our tinctures are gluten-free.
Unless the mycelium² has consumed all grain substrate, mycelium-based extracts end up with high starchy residue that dilutes any medicinal content.
1. Fruiting bodies refer to a mushroom’s cap and stem.
2. Mycelium refers to the web of fibers that produce the fruiting body.
